SHEro Spotlight: Jessica Miles

Jessica Miles is an Advocate, Registered Nurse and an Internationally published, award winning Photographer from Bradenton, Florida.

As she navigated the complexities of a diagnosis with Classical Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (cEDS) in 2016, she faced a new hurdle when her gastrointestinal symptoms worsened, culminating in the need for a permanent Ostomy. A registered nurse for 17 years, she made the difficult decision and gave up her career to heal and then pursued her passion for Photography. Today, she uses her camera and her platform to educate others about cEDS and Ostomy care, sharing her journey through social media and her community. With all the struggles she has endured, she still has a positive outlook on life and is ready for the next adventure.

Jessica and I were lucky enough to cross paths in Chicago, IL working with other Ostomates to change the stigma of the Ostomy Bag. Not only did I learn about her incredible story and efforts in Re-branding the bag, I learned she lives only an hour away from me!
